NEW ENGLAND UFO CONFERENCE 2013
Our First New England UFO Conference and will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Leominster, Massachusettsthe birthplace of UFO abductee Betty Andreasson. Betty then moved to South Ashburnham, Massachusetts where the remainder of her experiences took place prompting the publishing of several books on the case by UFO investigator Raymond E Fowler.
Leominster is also ther hometown of former Air Force Security Officer Steve LaPlume who was involved in the now-famous Rendlesham Forest Incident in late December of 1980 prompting the publishing of the bestseller Left at East Gate, by our conference speaker and colleague Peter Robbins.
We are hoping that with your generous donations, our Saturday, October 26, 2013 event can remain free to the public however, there are many costs to bring such an event to fruition and we may need to make adjustments as needed along the way. Most UFO Conferences with the same quality speakers as Stanton T. Friedman, Kathleen Marden and Peter Robbins usually cannot afford to run free events and hopefully with the generosity and cooperation of the City of Leominster, it's residents, merchants and organizations we here at NEUFOCON can keep this a free event.

All donations and proceeds will go towards the event costs, the Columbia Hotel Fire Fund and funding of future events in our city.
As a former speaker and organizer for the Exeter, N.H., UFO Festival the past 3 years, I have experienced the impact that such an event can have on a local community. Over these years, the Exeter UFO Festival has averaged over 2000 visitors to their community each year from all over the country on festival weekend. We at NEUFOCON feel that through our national promotional campaign can exceed this number and boost the economy of our city, especially after the November, 2012 Columbia Hotel block fire that displaceed city residents and destroyed several businesses.
Speaker Bios
Friedman was employed for 14 years as a nuclear physicist for such companies as General Electric (1956–1959), General Motors (1963–1966), Westinghouse (1966–1968), TRW Systems, Aerojet General Nucleonics (1959–1963), and McDonnell Douglas, where he worked on advanced, classified programs on nuclear aircraft, fission and fusion rockets, and compact nuclear power plants for space applications. Since the 1980s, he has done related consultant work in the radon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radon)-detection industry. Friedman's professional affiliations have included the American Nuclear Society, the American Physical Society, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and AFTRA.
UFO investigations and advocacy:
In 1970, Friedman left full-time employment as a physicist to pursue the scientific investigation of UFOs. Since then, he has given lectures at more than 600 colleges and to more than 100 professional groups in 50 states, nine provinces, and 16 foreign countries. Additionally, he has worked as a consultant on the topic. He has published more than 80 UFO-related papers and has appeared on many radio and television programs. He has also provided written testimony to Congressional hearings and appeared twice at the United Nations.
UFO researcher, author and lecturer, Kathleen Marden, received formal training as a social worker and educator. She earned her B.A. degree with honors from the University of New Hampshire and participated in graduate studies in education at The University of Cincinnati and U.N.H. The Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honor Society awarded her membership into its prestigious group for her outstanding academic performance. She began her career as a social worker, and later worked as a teacher and education services coordinator before making the decision to pursue a career in UFO abduction investigation, research, writing, and lecturing.
During her fifteen years as an educator, she innovated, designed and implemented model educational programs. She also held a supervisory position, coordinating, training and evaluating education staff. Additionally, she taught adult education classes on UFO and abduction history.
She has engaged in UFO abduction research and investigation for more than 22 years, specializing in the psychology of abduction, hypnosis, and UFO abduction history. Her most recent research project (with Denise Stoner), identified little known commonalities among abduction experiencers.
Kathy is proud to be the Mutual UFO Network’s Director of the Abduction Research Team and Florida MUFON’s Director of Abduction Studies. For 10 years, she volunteered as MUFON’s Director of Field Investigator Training. In 2012 she was awarded MUFON’s “Ufologist of the Year” trophy for her efforts to standardize and upgrade MUFON’s abduction investigation process and to develop methods to best support abduction experiencers.
Her interest in UFOs dates back to September 20, 1961, when her aunt Betty Hill phoned her nearby home to report that she and her uncle, Barney, had encountered a flying saucer in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. A primary witness to the evidence of the UFO encounter and the aftermath, Kathy has intimate knowledge of the Hill’s biographical histories, personalities, and the previously unpublished historical files pertaining to their sensational story. She is recognized as the world’s leading expert on the case.
She is the author of two books, Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience and Science was Wrong, with nuclear physicist/scientific ufologist Stanton T. Friedman, M.Sc.. Her chapter “UFO Abductions: Fact or Fiction” appears in UFOs and Aliens: Is There Anybody Out There?. Her articles have been published in the MUFON UFO Journal, Open Minds magazine and on several websites. The results of her most recent research project, with Denise Stoner, FL MUFON’s Asst. Director of Abduction Studies, “The Marden-Stoner Study on Commonalities Among Abduction Experiencers Report” can be read on her website at www.kathleen-marden.com . The two have written a new book on alien abduction that will be in bookstores in May 2013.
Kathy has appeared on several television documentaries on the Discovery, History and National Geographic Channels, and over 100 radio programs in the US, Canada and the UK. I addition to this, she has lectured on the topic of UFO abductions throughout the United States. Her book Captured! has been optioned for a motion picture and Science Was Wrong has now been printed in Chinese.
Peter Robbins holds a BFA in Painting and Film History from Manhattan's School of Visual Arts where he taught painting for fifteen years. He has worked as Theater manager and Assistant Director for New York's Mirror Repertory Company between 1982 and 1988, and served as assistant to actor, director and coach John Strasberg in his acting master classes.
Robbins has spoken on the subject of UFOs for more than twenty years. He has lectured in more than twenty states, Canada and France, and done dozens of talks in the United kingdom. Venues have included numerous national and local UFO conferences. His lectures have been sponsored by numerous local chapters of MUFON, BUFORA, and other grass-roots organizations, private groups, schools, universities, libraries, scientific organizations, educational foundations, as well as Cambridge Hospital in Boston (under the sponsorship of Dr. John Mack). Lecture topics have included (but not been limited to) the suppression of UFO information by the American and British Governments, James V. Forrestal (our first Secretary of Defense) and UFO's, Dr. Wilhelm Reich and UFOs, The RAF Bentwaters UFO incident (UK), [also known as the Rendlesham Forest incident], the UFO abduction phenomenon and the media and UFOs.
Highlights of Robbins' UFO background include the following:
1977 - Created and produced "The Question of UFO's," a six-part series for Manhattan Cable TV.
1978 - Research Assistant on "United Nations Secretary General's [requested] Report (A/33/268/Oct.6, 1978), for the establishment of a UN-UFO Department," directed to the Special Political Committee of the United Nations. Attended all of the relevant Special Political Committee meetings that November.
1979 - Editorial Assistant on [requested] "Blue Memorandum" for Parliament's House of Lords Debate on UFOs in January 1980.
1980-85 - Art Director and investigator for the Scientific Bureau of Investigation, a New York City-based civilian/police UFO research and investigative organization.
1992 to the present - Executive Assistant to Budd Hopkins; Intruders Foundation1998 to present - Heads the UFO Media Group of Central Park Media Corporation and is Editor-In-Chief of the website UFOcity.com.
1999 to present "Webwatch" columnist for UFO Magazine.
2000 - Writer, planner and commentator on "Ultimate UFO!," the most ambitious UFO-related DVD set currently available anywhere.
Robbins has lectured extensively on the subject of UFOs in the United States, the United Kingdom and in Europe. He has also been a guest and a consultant on many TV and radio shows. His television appearances include "The Geraldo Show," "Unsolved Mysteries," "A Current Affair," "Good Day New York," "People Are Talking," "Borderline," "The SciZone, "Unexplained," "L'Odyssee De L'Etrange" (France), "Network First: UFO" (UK), "Lifetime" (Canada), Chilean National TV and numerous BBC affiliates (UK). Radio interviews include "The Art Bell Show," "Strange" (BBC World Service - Iran), "The Laura Lee Show, "WBAI-NY, Hieronimus & Company, "Strange Daze" with Don Ecker, "Sightings On the Radio" with Jeff Rense, WEVD-NY’s "Alan Colmes Show," "The Mike Jarmus Show," "Stein Online" (Compuserve), "The Enigma Connection," Columbia University Radio, WBAI-NY's "UFO Desk," "Strange Days Indeed," with Errol Bruce-Knapp, "UFO's - Fact, Fiction or Fantasy?" According to Robert L. Schroeder's new book, "Solving the UFO Enigma: How Modern Physics is Revealing the Technology of UFOs," the technology behind the UFO phenomenon can now be explained by modern physics and by a close examination of the more credible UFO reports.
"The idea that a subset of all UFO reports represent advanced craft of extraterrestrial origin has been around for a long time - but only recently has the science of physics developed theories which, when correlated with selected UFO data, point directly toward a likely explanation of this alien technology," said Schroeder.
"Modern physics in its attempt to unify the fundamental forces of nature in a 'Theory of Everything' has proposed theories that require the existence of up to 11 space-time dimensions and the possibility of entire universes existing side by side with our own," added Schroeder. The author not only shows how physics has evolved to this point, but he also looks at the unanswered questions of modern physics such as the origin of inertia, the mystery of quantum non-locality, the Higgs or "God" particle, and the puzzle of the relative weakness of gravity.
"It is these unanswered questions, along with certain conjectures and pertinent UFO characteristics, that, when incorporated with the latest cutting edge physics theories, look to be the final keys to explaining UFO technology. The book does contain some of the math of the most important historical physics theories. Although the math isn't essential to understanding the basic theme of the book, it is there for those who would like an even more in-depth knowledge of modern physics," stated Schroeder.
Schroeder's proposed solution to UFO technology is based on some remarkable and rather exotic physics theories that are currently being tested at the Large Hadron Collider particle accelerator in Geneva, Switzerland. "Should these theories prove correct then there is a real possibility that UFO technology is within the reach of our earth civilization. Its development on our planet would open up whole new worlds, both literally and figuratively, to be discovered and explored."
About the Author: Robert Schroeder recently retired after 26 years with a major computer company where he was involved in operations and product management. His educational background includes a B.A. in mathematics from Rutgers University, an M.B.A. and an A.A. in aerospace engineering. He has closely followed developments in modern physics over the years and has researched the UFO phenomenon since the 1960s.
